Hosted by Belgium, Belize, Canada, Chile, Coasta Rica, Fiji, France, Indonesia, Norway, Panama, Seychelles, Spain and Sweden, the Ocean-Climate Ambition Summit will take place online on Tuesday 26 and 27 January 2021, co-sponsored by the Because the Ocean Initiative together with the UN Foundation, Ocean Conservancy, the Ocean & Climate Platform, NRDC, the Pew Charitable Trusts, EDF, RARE, the Blue Carbon initiative, Conservation international, and the IUCN.
There is a long list of speakers and panelists, including John Kerry, Special Presidential Envoy for Climate in the Biden-Harris Cabinet, Minister Zac Goldsmith (UK), Minister Andrés Allamand (Chile), Minister Andrea Meza (Costa Rica), and Spain’s Deputy Prime Minister Teresa Ribera. The Secretary of the Because the Ocean Initiative, Rémi Parmentier, will also deliver remarks on 26 January at the first intersession time, between Panel 1 and Panel 2.
